Theme of the Month - Eclipse and Farcaster
The questions that led me to the posts for Apr 2024 were:
What can you build for the Farcaster Challenge at Consensys?
How do you do awesome faceswaps?
What did you think of Jackson Hole, WY?
What buzzwords help you predict the future path of AI?
What do you know about having guinea pigs as pets?
“Enjoy” is not the word I would use describing this migration process. “Tedious”, “Repetitive”, and “Soul Sucking” is more accurate. I wrote some automation, but at the end of the day, I still needed to do the diff of content and consider where to put all this material. On a positive note, my About Me page now has my 30 day challenges, completed 30 under 30, 40 under 40, Travel advice, and Yearly reflections since 2008.
Farcaster has been a fun exploration in product ownership and deployment. Our challenge will be used in EthBerlin next month, so I’m super stoked the idea was able to manifest itself.
I did this AI panel on Twitter/X Spaces that was really insightful. Decentralizing AI is so hot right now. https://twitter.com/rss3_/status/1783872274162172015
To round out the month, I decided to make a few shorts where I interview my own Lists of 30 Writer GPT. I was impressed I could make the video in under an hour with heygen and the responses were pretty much unedited. I have made a few and added them to a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu-MJ-kMc3bxkwA4w2B3byQJzuorKQHZq I’ve also started a Tiktok account, which is weird.
I will be putting together a 30 day challenge posting some random questions to my AI. It was pretty easy making a custom GPT that helped me with finding fun topics and brainstorming potential scripts.
Here’s a guide if you’re curious how I created the Lists of 30 Writer GPT:
The blogposts I’ve published this month were:
30 Farcaster Frames and Patterns - Before starting our internal hackathon, I wanted to do research on the different patterns that would be useful in building our project. These early frames remind me of early Facebook apps.
Faceswap Guide - I’ve been faceswapping for 6 months and it has only gotten more impressive. Pretty random birthday gift for frens. I can probably make some side hustle money on some faceswaps.
[Travel Advice] Grand Teton (June 2023) - I love these road trips and can’t wait to take a few more. Jackson Hole, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone were beautiful.
30 Buzzwords Unveiling the Future of AI - No shortage of buzzwords in the AI industry. My mini rants share my predictions.
30 Guinea Pig Things I Learned (Feb 2021)- We loved our Guinea Pigs and built them a castle back in early 2021. Honestly, it way too much work and they pooped too much. Kitties are so much friendlier and not afraid that we’ll eat them.
Some ideas for May 2024?
Bootstrapping Web3 with AI Tools Course / Clembot Interview Series - I’m considering launching this in a slightly different way with my Clembot AI answering some FAQs.
Clembot AI Interview Guide - I don’t mind sharing my secrets on how this is done. There’s only minor editing magic.
30 Try Guy Things - Since AI is going to take everything over, I might as well embrace the joys of physically doing more things. This will incorporate into my 40 under 40.
[Travel Advice] Amsterdam (again) - An oldie, but goodie. I made a few yearly pilgrimages to this great place for some table tennis and excellent food. I can’t wait to visit with Vinessa.
30 Exotic Foods I’ve Eaten - I’ve eaten a lot of crazy things on my trips and generally being from Hong Kong.
30 Tips from Beat Bobby Flay - An output of love and drool from watching Beat Bobby Flay episodes on (HBO) Max.
30 New AI Careers - Rethinking our post-labor economic jobs. Let’s all switch to the gig economy.
Reflecting on 10 years of writing lists of 30 - I still love writing lists of 30! It’ll define my whole life.
30 Future Decade Goals - We split the next 30 years into goals per decade as mapped out by Evie’s age. This was a great activity in long term planning for her ages 6-16, 16-26, and 26-36.
30 Ways to Stretch Time - Wealth doesn’t mean money, but time. It’s our only limited resource.
30 Things I do for Self Care - We all need to figure out what restores our energy and keeps us sane.
Kicking off “Her Life in Lists of 30” - I think I have enough material from my monthly lists of 30s to cover this and launch it in 2024. Maybe I’ll find a publisher for this book? I think I’ll be happy with more substack subscribers than a single book defining a decade. If it’s popular, maybe I’ll do a book tour!
Thank you for reading and I hope everyone stays safe!
Please suggest a list of 30 and I’ll write it! I’ve written 260+ lists of 30 and only publish ones that I think other people would enjoy. It’s my fun brainstorming routine.
