I still publish new material on seelemons.com whenever I find something intriguing to write about. This monthly newsletter is to give a heads up about those articles that might be interesting.
Theme of the Month - Recession & Distractions
The questions that led me to the posts for May were:
Why is the sky falling across all asset classes?
What’s fun in VR? Why do I keep playing?
How do you design a token? What questions do you have to ask to launch one?
Which businesses has Elon Musk built when you look under the hood of its disruptive innovation?
We’re definitely in a Recession based on the latest 7 weeks of decline. I’m not that hopeful as the earning calls of large companies will likely lead to re-price of assets in the market for long term. Is it going to be a 2 year bear market? I hope not. Has inflation reached its peak? I hope so. There’s definite going to be a lot of volatility and if there is a “depression” ahead, I am more worried about companies shedding opex costs.
The blogposts I’ve published this month were:
30 Macro Worries (May 2022) - Accelerated climate change is probably the most important one. I think the next few years in a bear market will be shocking to most people. Likely long term higher unemployment rates. Likely harder to raise money. Good time to learn new skills and build.
30 Things I love in VR - I still play everyday and continue to explore new games that don’t make me sick from moving around too much. There’s still plenty of interesting immersive experiences.
30 Token Design and Launch Questions - Published to the cryptoeconomic blog at ConsenSys. I still do quite a bit of token designs on the side.
30 Elon Musk Businesses - The end-to-end disruption of these businesses are super impressive. It may take years, but the company has a foundation of adoption and continues pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Some ideas for June 2022? Crypto numbers go up and down. I’m trying to do a lot less.
Thank you for reading and I hope everyone stays safe!
Please suggest a list of 30 and I’ll write it! I’ve written 230+ lists of 30 and only publish ones that I think other people would enjoy. It’s my fun brainstorming routine.
