30 Decisions to Outsource to AI
Decisions that I'd outsource to AI
Random Observation/Comment #889: Clembot has so much more to learn about me.
//ChatGPT generation of random people that look surprisingly like my family. I did not feed any of our photos into the system.
Why this List?
I was talking to my wife trying to decide what we were going to watch as a new series. Why not have AI discuss and decide with us? It has all knowledge of media like the internet, but we can also train it with each of our profiles of likes and dislikes. It made me think about this decision and whether or not we'd be better off just listening to our AI narrator tell us what to do and where to go. I am willfully becoming a cat.
This isn't something I was mentally ready for yet, but in this same line of thinking, I did want to isolate the decision making and tasks that I'd be willing to outsource to my Clembot. What would be an ultimate curated experience of low stress and joy, and what would be too creepy to think about in a meta type of way?
What to watch next - AI knows the watch history, our mood, and times of watching of all our profiles and can suggest something that fits the time span, mood, and value. A real-time discussion with Clembot mediating a “what should we watch” could also be stressful.
What house improvement would bring the most comfort for the least amount of money - AI knows my house condition and budget to figure out what needs fixing to maintain house value or what would be a good investment to increase comfort/usage. Let’s just do the basement.
What work task should be prioritized to increase our metrics and crush our OKRs - AI project manager knows the parallel activities of our coworkers and gauges how to best estimate delivery of a product that would be most competitive in the market.
What exercises I should do to improve different pains or reach certain health goals - AI knows my current body health stats and goals, so it will suggest an exercise and stretch routine for me. It may even put it on my personal calendar.
What should I eat and drink that optimizes my gut health and bowel movements, but also would be most tasty for the whole family - AI can know all our shit (pun intended). Perhaps it does better optimized restaurant meal suggestions or can nudge the need for more fiber and protein. It would be a little too creepy if AI tells me the restaurant and what to order based on all of these settings. I’d purposefully defy it to eat something I can’t cook.
What to cook with what's in the fridge (+what we've eaten this week and videos I've watched on YouTube) - AI can connect to a lot of personal states and preferences with some orchestration. I do, however, love deciding on the cook when I’m just looking at things. How else will I be able to think on my feet for these cooking competitions?
What I should learn to stay employable - AI would know my work history and also my personal skillset (based on those dumb questions I’ve asked). Maybe I'd have a private test from my Clembot to see what I need to brush up on. Maybe the learning experience all together is just a convo with Clembot. I’d have an ultimate tutor and mentor.
How to improve my disc golf throw - I can upload different angles of videos so my AI can give me some feedback. Even better, it can see who's playing at my favorite course and recommend I adjust my schedule to meet people there.
What I can improve in my table tennis game - This is especially cool because maybe the AI coach can see my motions in VR. I would love to play an auto adjusting AI difficulty that can make me practice against different opponents with different skills or ways to take advantage of my weakness. If there’s a personification of an AI coach within a game, then maybe we can also go on a VR movie together.
What video game I should play next - AI can ask me which games I've loved playing. I really do want to get into a good storyline. Is it Balatro? I think it’s more of Balatro.
What clothes to buy based on fit, forecast, and fashion - Tells me what looks good or just sends me some photos of me wearing these clothes. I was amazed by the latest Google "Try it On" project (now called Doppl) - https://blog.google/technology/google-labs/doppl/
How to manage my autoimmune flare-ups - AI suggests routine tweaks, supplements, or environmental changes to keep symptoms low.
When to put down the phone - AI can remind me "You said you wanted 8 hours of sleep and quality family time. Time to shut off your usage." I guess this is already a health app and maybe it’s like a nagging Mom, but maybe I like that kind of relationship.
Which middle school is best for my daughter - Reviews school data, curriculum, commuting, and social environment. It may also have some feedback from the other AI tutor by interacting with a different AI or set of educational apps she’s using at school.
Which activities develop long-term skills for Evie – Matches her energy and interests with coordination, creativity, and confidence boosters. The long term growth like hand eye coordination, teamwork, or just general activity. I shall call her, Mini me.
What book to read that balances insight and escapism – Based on recent thoughts, books I’ve finished, and topics I’m dwelling on. I already do like AI recommendations on books that are less about the ads algorithm. Maybe the new ad network is convincing people’s AI that they should be reading or watching certain things using some convoluted logic.
What I should draw in my nightly journal – Pulls from photo memories, emotional check-ins, and daily vibes to suggest what would be a good long term drawing project.
Where to travel next, and when to buy tickets – Clembot tracks flight prices, weather patterns, and our vacation rhythm. I do think this ability to do live rebooking and retracking is really useful. Flying feels like crap right now though.
What conferences to attend for brand or career exposure – Filters by ROI, networking opportunity, and niche alignment. I do think I need to attend a podcast conference next.
Where to go for our next date night – Based on babysitting availability, vibe, budget, and shared interests. I do think an AI managing my love life would be pretty interesting to experiment with.
Who I should message for reconnection – Scans contacts and social media to gently remind me who I’ve missed. This could just go through my messaging apps and see if they've been doing well (or even suggest what to bring up).
What bands have new releases I'd love – Curates a mix of nostalgic throwbacks and genre evolutions. Maybe I'd say "I'm in the mood to explore music" vs "I'm in the mood to feel nostalgic to old songs I used to love that I haven't heard in a long time."
What beers or collabs I should try locally – Tracks limited releases, favorite hops, and quirky brewery events. Thirsty Thursdays!
What side project would bring the most joy and completion – Based on time available, personal themes, and tools I’m playing with. Maybe it’s the journey of deciding to build the project that counts.
How to rebalance my investment portfolio – Knows my risk tolerance and optimizes for upcoming dividends or market moves. I’ll have Clembot manage my full trust.
Which tools to use for making realistic AI media – Keeps me at the edge of tech without going full uncanny valley. How many more faceswaps do I need?
What gift would make someone feel truly seen – Scans chats, past gifts, and inside jokes to suggest something meaningful. I wonder if my wife would question whether or not our connection is real if my gifts were all clearly thought of by Clembot.
What digital services to set up for my parents – Voice assistant setups, health check reminders, even managing doctor portals. I may even setup a vacation for them.
What habit will give me the biggest contentment boost – Connects my journaling, sleep, stress, and goals to recommend tweaks. Smarter every day.
What next list of 30 will bring me joy and surprise – The most meta of recs: “You should write about the 30 things you forgot you could automate.”

My Clembot AI Journey
Random Observation/Comment #878: I’ve carefully considered what I’ve outsourced to Clembot and the process of writing lists is definitely not fully one of them. I don’t want to stop exercising the part of my brain that does hard things.
