Random Observation/Comment #888: If AGI is real, then this is it: this is the Renaissance. This is the printing press. This is fire. And I want to do more than just warm my hands by it.

Why this list?
With smartphones and the Internet, we have the combined knowledge of all humans a few searches and taps away. Today, we have that and the ability to manifest literally anything digital at our fingertips with all these GenAI tools. What would you do with such awesome power? Doom scroll? Gloom scroll? More cat videos? Solitaire? When we reach AGI, the curiosity and drive for individuals to do things and follow through with them will be the differentiator. Some may fall into addiction and others might get addicted to productivity.
I could have also just said that I’ll use AGI to help me achieve all my 40 under 40 goals, but I’m hoping I’ll be done with those before AGI/ASI appears:
Simulate my digital twin fully - I'm sure you can make a better Clembot that has its own OS for self improvement, downloading packages, and monitoring of dynamic sources across my devices. Obviously, I’ll need a private and public version of Clembot with properly protected private data and limited shared public material.
Create a persistent digital trust that manages my estate, IP, and donations forever - My values encoded in AGI. Keeps the family legacy alive and quirky.
Use it to create a VR time capsule of my life - Not just photos, but perhaps AI generate actual moments, sounds, smells, and inside jokes. I think this would probably make me lazy though. I do so much because I like the process of recording.
Start an “infinite generational memory project” - Along the same lines of a VR time capsule, perhaps I can use AGI to archive family stories, decisions, quirks, and values to pass on with love and humor.
Have it predict which projects I’ll abandon - So I can skip the 8-hour YouTube tutorial rabbit holes and just stick to the stuff I know I'll get good at. I can also see some people abandoning all creativity and just saying “Hey Clembot, plan everything for me so I just do your bidding and enjoy the physical process. I’m in a real life MMORPG.”
Use it to summarize and synthesize all my journals and sketches - So I can publish My Life in Meta-Lists of 30. It will probably live across devices and always be recording, so I’m sure this AGI will help me organize across different memories.
Train it on my wife's preferences so it can help me pick birthday gifts - And subtly veto my bad ideas from thisiswhyimbroke.com .
Make it manage my calendar and emotionally prepare me for each meeting - “You’re not underprepared, just over-empathetic.” Automated reminders may actually make me lazy because I do enjoy setting the alarms and doing responsible adulting to attend things on time.
Use it to automate grief rituals - Not just logistics, but poetry, playlists, custom holograms. I could have AGI prepare my full digital legacy.
Build an AI-powered nature retreat for all my friends - Where AGI does all the thinking and I go touch grass. Perhaps it's a temple with no screens and just questions with wind chimes.
Simulate alternate timelines of my life - But only the ones where I learned to play piano or skateboard.
Create AI companions for my daughter to talk to about big feelings and help motivate her to keep improving - And maybe also help with her math homework.
Make it remix my old travel itineraries into children’s adventure books - “Evie and the Bento Quest of Tokyo.”
Clone my brain for business strategy mode - So “Work Clemens” can keep consulting clients happy while “Real Clemens” plays tag with his daughter. I'm guessing this is voluntary Severance.
Build and run the “List Suggestion Engine” in my app - AGI reads your mood, your calendar, your journal… and gives you the exact list you need to write.
Run simulations of new product ideas - I still love being a tech philosopher and seeing whether or not certain ideas could be worth pursuing. Market size, competition, brand voice match… AGI turns ideas into launch plans.
Fully remove advertising across all my platforms - I hate ads in games. I guess I could always just make enough money to stimulate the economy and help developers build games, but I feel like I should just recreate all the games I love playing into my personalized OS that doesn't play ads anywhere. I'll start with Sudoku and Crosswords. For some ideas of what ads are in your life:
Offer “Clemens as a Service” for people wanting creative coaching - You get a little digital Clemens who helps you make lists, brands, or bedtime stories.
Filter my newsfeed by what’s actually important to my goals - No more rage-bait. Just relevance. I guess I could also get put into an echo chamber.
Consider the things that won't change and just focus on those - Perhaps we will go back to a simple life. I wrote a whole list of 30 about this on things that won’t change:
Let Clembot schedule vacations for myself and family that we'd love - It would take into account my travel wishes and start to plan my year with optimization on enjoyment and the monthly Triumph moments. I tend to do this myself already to have one cool thing every month.
Let AGI match me to micro-consulting gigs - Based on my calendar, interests, and “low drama” filter.
Fully integrate and automate my house routines - I have some smart things built out, but I feel like it'd be super cool for the AGI to know which routines to build in its reasoning and just run them based on my scheduling.
Get gentle, reflective nudges throughout the day - “You said you wanted to write something meaningful today. Would now be a good time?”
Gamify my whole life - Create a fun way to incorporate checking off quests and treating life as an RPG so I can see my leveled up points, hoard of assets with summarized dollars, and lifetime achievements. This is a life-optimized game with real world outcomes.
Build a trading AI that only activates when it detects ethical alpha - No pump-and-dumps. Just real-world value creation tied to positive sum bets.
Design AGI-generated micro-businesses for friends - AGI takes their skills, passions, constraints and generates realistic business paths that can support them.
Let AGI scan my health, stress, and sleep to create weekly wellness recipes - Physical, emotional, and spiritual can all integrated into small doable routines. In many cases, I'd want to resist the addictive internet. I guess if I do everything Clembot says then I'm fulfilling the physical will of Clembot.
Develop AI systems for teachers and caretakers - Where AGI lifts the administrative burden so they can focus on humans.
Upload Clembot to a real robot - Who needs friends when I can build my own? This could get weird.

Random Observation/Comment #878: I’ve carefully considered what I’ve outsourced to Clembot and the process of writing lists is definitely not fully one of them. I don’t want to stop exercising the part of my brain that does hard things.
