30 Lifelong Main Quests
Everyone should consider this main quest and their progress with the story line.
Random Observation/Comment #901: I wouldn’t take this game too seriously. No one ever comes out of it alive.

Why this list?
Life is an RPG. I find the side quests more interesting, but sometimes you need to progress the story line.
30 Lifelong Side Quests Worth Taking
Random Observation/Comment #899: Life doesn’t hand you a neat quest log, but sometimes it feels like one.
Some quests are mandatory, some are elective, and some just show up because you clicked the wrong dialogue option. Here’s the quest journal we’re all carrying around. It’s not just me, right?
Note that I have thought about these quests a lot and I have a blog post or full book to dive deeper on each of the topics.
Inheritance Quest - Write a will, pick an executor, and decide who gets the loot drop. I would start thinking about this sooner than later. Consider your ops-sec (operational security) and how you can further protect yourself and your assets. Bonus: Create a trust and consider paying yourself to be the financial manager of your own trust. This seems like it could be pretty fun as a retirement gig.
Legacy Quest - What do people remember when your credits roll? Hopefully it’s not just a number, but a way you’ve made people feel.
Personal Feat Quest - The solo mountain climb, marathon, or deep dive into the unknown. Pretty sure this life in lists of 30 is my personal feat.
Guild Questing - The achievements you can only unlock in groups: bands, startups, family achievements, neighborhood trips. I do think we join and stick with the guilds we love. It used to be Table Tennis and now it’s the midlife crisis suburban pursuit of disc golfing, road biking, poker, hiking 14ers, grilling, and recording podcasts.
Parenting Quest - Optional but infamous. Low sleep stats, high love buffs. I would encourage more people to procreate so we have more youth to fight against the AI overlords.
Career Mastery Quest - Max out one skill tree. I don’t know what skills I have. Is “getting shit done” a skill?
Financial Stability Quest - The eternal gold grind. Final boss = retirement dragon. I would work on this earlier than later.
Friendship Quest - Maintain bonds for decades. True endurance raid. Note that this is both effortless and requires lots of consistent effort to have healthy relationships.
Quest to Walk Down Memory Lane - Reconnect with old friends and share past adventures again with some nostalgia. I am very close to reliving some awesome travels (but now with some money).
Marriage/Partnership Quest - The co-op campaign with infinite patch notes. I would say this is probably the most important decision you can make.
Health Quest - Manage debuffs of aging while building your vitality. I think this is a basic quest that is a never-ending adventure. If you have healthy habits then you will move towards healthy.
Home Base Quest - Build or decorate a space that feels like your castle. I do think this takes a lot more money than I thought it would.
Travel Checklist Quest - Slow travel to unlock world wonders and magical hidden zones.
Education Quest - Continuous XP farming for your mind. Cooper was just the beginning of a life long quest of learning random things.
Creative Quest - Make something that outlasts you. My book of drawings will probably look pretty cool.
Memoir Quest - Write the stories you want remembered.
Side Questing - Random hobbies and experiments that bring joy, XP optional.
Launch-the-App Quest - Finally build the app you always dreamed of. Thanks to vibe coding/architecting + AI, the entry barrier is gone. You should have no excuses.
Mentorship Quest - Train up the next generation of players.
Philanthropy Quest - Drop loot back into the community chest.
Pet Quest - Adopt a loyal sidekick. Bonus if they have hilarious quirks. Fun fact: Guinea pigs poop way more than you want them to. They’re also so loud all the time.
Faith/Spiritual Quest - Find your belief system. I live of life of perfect simplicity.
30 Life Decisions and Systems
·Random Observation/Comment #866: I chose the path of perfect simplicity.
Resilience Quest - Fail, respawn, repeat.
Community Quest - Contribute to your neighborhood, guild, or cause.
Adventure Quest - Say yes to stories you’ll retell forever.
Digital Legacy Quest - Decide what happens to your online character after log-off.
Declutter Quest - Inventory management IRL. Fewer items, lighter load. I feel like I’ve enjoyed the Marie Kondo method.
Storytelling Quest - Be the bard. Capture, preserve, and share memories.
Celebration Quest - Rituals and milestones that buff morale.
Final Boss Quest - Face mortality with humor, prep, and grace. I feel like this is the quest that ties all the other quests together and brings you back to the beginning.
