Theme of the Month - Summer Reset and back to SA work
The questions/thoughts that led me to the posts for Aug 2024 were:
What does it mean to live joyously rather than chasing bursts of happiness?
What do I feel when I’m camping and disconnected from my digital world?
How’s Keystone for the summer?
What’s inside of your digital bubble?
What should I stop doing in my life?
What does a Solutions Architect do?
Summer resets bring me joy. Joy has been a recent theme as we search for stability and homeostasis of a healthy routine. It’s nice to take time off from adventuring and enjoy the neighborhood quiet. I often look for this level of peace, but then I complain it gets too boring. Perhaps I need to go on a meditation retreat.
On a work note, I’ve transitioned back to my Solutions Architect roots within the Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN) team within Consensys building a decentralized web3 infrastructure marketplace. For those who don’t know what SAs do, there’s a list of 30 for that. I’ve learned quite a bit working with the Product and Marketing side for the past few years. It was a lot of context switching across releases and communication to multiple internal stakeholders, but I felt like a useful glue. I hope to continue using these glue-like skills for my future endeavors with this smaller team.
If you’re still into AI, I created a few free dancing videos with just my own photo using viggle.ai (not sponsored). Pretty fun and fascinating how you don’t even need to know how to dance anymore to get that overlay.
On a concert note, Phish is awesome. Phishmas is the time of year to enjoy the phish shows and bring perspective to our contributions to our space. I may be an NPC gaining consciousness (I can’t say the paranoid signs aren’t there) for some other main character side quest. In any case, I’m still having fun.
The blogposts I’ve published this month were:
Consistency gives a foundation for a home.
Let’s do more camping. Disconnect from your digital twin.
Summer Keystone travel is great for hiking and an escape from the hot Colorado sun.
Keep track of what you’re reading and where you’re contributing
Do less. Say less. Live more.
Solutions Architects help with all things client-facing technical.
Some ideas for Sept 2024?
30 Ways I’ve Prepared for AI Takeover - Things I’ve been doing to prepare for upcoming AI Agents. It’s all about managing your own data.
Bootstrapping Web3 with AI Tools Course - I’m considering launching this in a slightly different way with my Clembot AI answering some FAQs.
30 Tips from Beat Bobby Flay - An output of love and drool from watching Beat Bobby Flay episodes on (HBO) Max.
30 New AI Careers - Rethinking our post-labor economic jobs. Let’s all switch to the gig economy.
Reflecting on 10 years of writing lists of 30 - I still love writing lists of 30! It’ll define my whole life.
30 Future Decade Goals - We split the next 30 years into goals per decade as mapped out by Evie’s age. This was a great activity in long term planning for her ages 6-16, 16-26, and 26-36.
30 Ways to Stretch Time - Wealth doesn’t mean money, but time. It’s our only limited resource.
30 Things I do for Self Care - We all need to figure out what restores our energy and keeps us sane.
Kicking off “Her Life in Lists of 30” - I think I have enough material from my monthly lists of 30s to cover this and launch it in 2024. Maybe I’ll find a publisher for this book? I think I’ll be happy with more substack subscribers than a single book defining a decade. If it’s popular, maybe I’ll do a book tour!
Thank you for reading and I hope everyone stays safe!
Please suggest a list of 30 and I’ll write it! I’ve written 280+ lists of 30 and only publish ones that I think other people would enjoy. It’s my fun brainstorming routine.
